Believe it or not, in some cases there is a “fast track” to getting divorced in Israel – and believe it or not it’s a much less expensive route to go with. This option doesn’t exist for couples who are ready to “fight to the death” with each other. However, If both spouses want to avoid the complex and costly legal proceedings usually associated with divorce, and have already agreed on most of the major divorce matters (custody, visitation, property division, maintenance, etc.), then we can help them to bridge the remaining points of contention and we can help them in the proper terminology required to close out a comprehensive agreement.
We have developed a questionnaire, which if the couple is able to fill out jointly (and this means that both spouses agree on all of the points filled in…) we are able to quickly help the couple by drafting a comprehensive divorce agreement whose finer details we work out together with both spouses (and many times we help them negotiate or mediate with each other) both in person, via e-mail, and via telephone.
Once the final draft of the divorce agreement is agreed upon by both parties, we get it approved by the court, and can move quickly forward with completing the divorce and ending the marriage in the rabbinate.
Best of all, we are able to do the whole process for 7,500 N.I.S. plus V.A.T. Compare this to 15,000 to 25,000 N.I.S. plus V.A.T for a divorce agreement that we spend months with helping the spouses come to when we start from ground zero, or the tens of thousands of shekels required for a litigated divorce.
Who says divorce has to be expensive?
And lest I forget – of course any information that you fill in on the questionnaire enjoys absolute confidentiality.
If both of you are interested in a “quickie” divorce, call for a free initial consultation.
