In theory, any couple can make any agreement that want to organize the different aspects of their relationship, and the agreement could be binding, right?
Well not really – at least not in Israel.
In Israel there is a series of laws regulating the relationships between couples and as a consequence, not every agreement will be binding (although most will – at least as far as they relate to income and assets and custody/visitation and support), and even those that are binding will only be so if properly done..
